BIO:

Stacy Hawkins Adams is an award-winning author, columnist and speaker.

Her seven nationally-published women’s fiction novels entertain and transform readers through plots filled with matters of faith, social issues and true-to-life drama that nudges them toward the personal growth many of her characters experience. Her nonfiction, spiritual devotion book gives women practical tips and inspiration on how to connect more deeply with God.

Stacy’s latest novel, Coming Home, is seemingly about a clichéd love triangle. Beneath the surface, however, it is the story of two very different women who struggle to forgive each other and themselves, so they can help a man they both love die with dignity. The book was selected as a Target Stores “Recommended Read” for 2012.

Stacy’s sixth novel, Dreams That Won’t Let Go, was a 2011 Library of Virginia Award finalist, with the likes of books penned by John Grisham and Jan Karon. Her fourth novel, The Someday List, maintained a steady presence on the Essence bestseller’s list throughout 2009, and soared to #7 on the Kindle bestseller list. Who Speaks to Your Heart? Tuning In to Hear God’s Whispers, is Stacy’s first nonfiction book. It serves as a devotional guide for busy women from all walks of life who are seeking to deepen their faith.

Before becoming an author and freelance columnist, Stacy was a newspaper reporter for fourteen years, primarily at the Richmond Times-Dispatch in Virginia. She currently writes a parenting column for the Times-Dispatch and received the 2011 Media Award from the Virginia Association for Early Childhood Education for the informative and insightful subjects she tackles.

Stacy teaches writing courses as an adjunct professor at the University of Richmond and beyond the literary world, she serves as a marketing and communications professional. She devotes considerable time to promoting child advocacy as a community volunteer. Among the honors she has received for these endeavors are the YWCA of Richmond’s 2011 Outstanding Woman Award and Style Weekly magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 recognition. Stacy resides with her family in suburban Richmond, Virginia and is currently writing the two books that will follow Coming Home in the Winds of Change series.
