Dawn Van Beck
BIO:
I hold a degree in Human Resources with a concentration in Gerontology which has allowed me a rewarding career advocating for vulnerable adults. I’ve worked for several years in private practice as a Professional Legal Guardian. I currently work part-time in an Elder Law office as a Public Benefits Specialist and also work alongside my husband with our moving and estate business.
My love for writing began at an early age, pretending to be a librarian leading story time to my imaginary patrons. Over the years, I’ve contributed to several publications including newsletters, magazines and theater pieces. I’ve had several books self-published, which include good, clean, fiction romance and inspirational short stories, and a couple of children’s books. I’m currently working on my very first non-fiction book for Christian women. In addition, God has called me to a speaking ministry. I’ve been working and training for this and have my very first “official” speaking gig on May 8th.
I make my home in sunny Florida where I’m surrounded by a ridiculous number of writing journals and artisan coffee mugs. I love rummaging through antique shops, the arresting aroma of lavender, and I admit a quirky affinity for all things office supplies. I spend my time with my crazy husband, my adult children, and our feisty Dachshund named Lilly.
We all have a voice and many thoughts need to be voiced. What better way than to write stuff down, or speak it out? For me, writing is a way to express my thoughts on the world around me, describe experiences that move my spirit, and to share how God meets me daily . . . with all my broken pieces.
My Ministry Statement: Dawn is an author and speaker with a past that includes regrettable choices. Some might even say unforgivable choices. Dawn helps adult women embrace the gracious love of God in their lives by leading them to absolute freedom in Christ.
