BIO:

A former VP of the National Association of Broadcasters in DC, Joy Dunlap built a successful multi-faceted career in communication, media and marketing while frequently relocating as a military spouse. A newspaper reporter, award-winning radio news director, and freelance magazine writer, Joy has had hundreds of articles published and aired.
No stranger to the stage or microphone, Joy hosted a radio talk show and delivered goal and growth-oriented presentations to groups as well as inspirational speeches at women’s retreats and other venues. Joy served as Women’s Ministry Director for a 1,000+-member church in VA and has provided leadership in a variety of other women’s organizations. Her Speaking Joyfully blog explores ordinary happenings in connection with our extraordinary God.  Joy’s ministry theme is “Life is Better when it’s Full…Joy-full, Thank-full, Purpose-full and Friend-full™.” She enjoys cruises, chocolate, roller coasters, and chats with friends.  Water aerobics and walks in the woods are her go-to exercises, but lifting the fork is probably her favorite!  Joy and her husband Charlie Dunlap, a retired military officer and current Executive Director of the Center on Law, Ethics and National Security at Duke Law School, live in Durham, NC. Passionate about encouraging and inspiring, Joy enjoys connecting with others at speaking engagements and through her writing.
