BIO:
BARBARA HIBSCHMAN is a popular conference and retreat speaker for women’s events, churches, college and seminary services, educational conferences, and seminars in the USA and abroad.
Barbara’s experiences as a pastor’s wife, mother, grandmother, public and private school teacher, and missionary service in the Philippines and Egypt, provide her with a colorful and humorous background to communicate God’s love and faithfulness. She holds a Master of Education degree from Northeastern Illinois University, and her teaching gifts continue to be used in Christian ministries, missions, and writer’s conferences. In 2018, she was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Findlay, OH, where she did her undergraduate studies.
Barbara is the author of 8 books, hundreds of magazine articles, and a contributing author to 14 inspirational books. In 1992, she received the “Writer of the Year Award” from the Greater Philadelphia Christian Writers Conference.
Besides teaching at a college in the Philippines, Barbara and her husband, Jim, have served in various cross-cultural ministries. For 8 years they were a pastoral-care couple for missionaries serving is Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, and one “creative access” country in Central Asia. In 2011, they returned to Ohio after serving as the lead-pastor couple at an international church in Cairo, Egypt. Together, they share the speaking platform at missions conferences, Perspectives on the World Christian Movement classes, and for marriage enrichment retreats. They are the proud parents of two grown children, and grandparents to 4 of the greatest kids on the planet!
