BIO:
Charleen Burghardt worked as a teacher for years. Then she was a stay-at-home mom when her children were young. Because she has two sons with disabilities, she has been an active advocate for people with disabilities. In a second career, she attended seminary and worked as a hospice and hospital chaplain for over a decade. She is an ordained elder in the Global Methodist Church and the coordinator of Women’s Ministries in the South Area of the Global Methodist Church.
She speaks, writes, and leads grief groups. Her writing includes a regular blog and contributions to magazines such as Mommies Enduring Neonatal Loss, Breakthrough Intercessors Magazine, Our Scarlett Stories, Upper Room, Arise, and Christian Devotions. Charleen lives with her husband in San Antonio, Texas, and has three adult children.
She enjoys meeting with girlfriends for coffee or lunch, hiking, crafts, and reading, but especially all things chocolate.
Charleen is a new author, Where Hope Rises: 60 Devotions for Walking Through Grief with God. Grief breaks in many ways, and this devotion invites you into a sacred space where sorrow meets the steadfast love of Christ.
