BIO:
Wendy Hinote Lanier is a former elementary teacher, award-winning author, Texan, and certified speaker who writes and speaks for children and adults. She has written more than 50 traditionally published books for a variety of publishers and writes both fiction and nonfiction for children. She also crafts articles and devotional pieces for adults. Her resume´ includes titles for End Game Press, Sleeping Bear Press, Iron Stream Media, North Star Editions, Focus Readers, State Standards Publishing, ABDO Publishing, Lerner Books, KidHaven Press, Lucent Books, and Capstone Press as well as articles in on-line and print publications such as Highlights for Children and Clubhouse Magazine.
Wendy’s most recent books include Paws-itive Inspirations: 90 Devotions for Kids and Dog Lovers (co-authored with Michelle Medlock Adams, Iron Stream Media, 2024) an Illumination Enduring Light Gold Medal and 2025 Christian Market Book Award Youth Book of the Year winner, The Dog That Gave My Brother Words (End Game Press, 2023) a Writers’ League of Texas Discovery Prize Award and Christopher Award winner, and Too Many Pigs in the Pool (Sleeping Bear Press, 2022) a Moonbeam Gold Medal and Selah Award winner. Her next book, due out in spring 2027 is Guardians of the Littlest Penguins (Sleeping Bear Press).
Wendy’s educational background includes a B.S. in Speech Communications Disorders, an M.S. in Speech Language Pathology, and an M.Ed. in Elementary Education. As a teacher, Wendy spent more than 18 years in Texas public and private schools specializing in the areas of science, social studies, and language arts.
Wendy does school presentations for Elementary and Middle School audiences that include topics related to her books (dogs, math, autism awareness), the writer’s journey, and writing lessons for kids. She also speaks for church and civic organizations on topics related to faith and writing.
