BIO:
Hi. I’m Sheri Schofield. I’ve known since I learned to write that I would become a professional
writer someday. First article: age 10. My cousin and I had just found Grandma’s spray paints,
from which she had removed the tops. We decided to push a stick down into the hole and see if
we could get it to spray. It did. All over my face. I had to attend school the next day with orange
freckles. I wrote about it, sent it to a national magazine, and they published it. I was hooked.
Now I’m writing mostly adult Christian books, with a few children’s books on the side.
My most difficult book to write was about a life and death battle I fought…and won… with my
typewriter and telephone (One Step Ahead of the Devil). It is my most powerful book…and a
true one… but I had to write it under a pen name (S. M. Hausen) for safety reasons.
Much of my writing has been for ministry, including the book “God, Where Are You?” But I’ve
branched out into writing fiction as well. I enjoy writing romantic suspense books (Before You
Find Me and Legend of the Lake). Since I also serve as a writer for Arise Daily Devotions
(online), I’ve compiled many of those devotions in the book Sunflower Love.
One of these days, I’m going to combine all my humor stories into one book and send it to my
publisher. Laughter brings healing to weary hearts. It has been my way of coping with the tough
things in life. If I can laugh, I will survive the hard times
