Nancy Haack
BIO:
I am Nancy Haack and I was born and have lived in the Northeast all my life. I’ve spent my life in small towns and appreciate the sense of community and importance of family that comes with that. My husband and I have been married almost 40 years, and we’ve raised two daughters and now have two grandchildren, with more expected in the next few years! I was blessed to have been brought up in a close-knit family that cherished children. We were encouraged to explore our talents and pursue our interests. From an early age my artistic talent was evident, so no one was surprised when I chose graphic design as my major in college. During those years, I was introduced to children’s illustration and felt led in that direction. Outside of school, I attended Christian conferences for artists where I learned how to stay inspired and how God uses artwork to communicate his heart. That was also when I began studying scripture and entered into a personal relationship with God. Since those early days, I have had a variety of freelance jobs while I raised my girls and tended our home. Some allowed me to use my artistic gifts while others seemed unrelated. What I’ve learned is that whether I was scrambling up a ladder to wash windows, or painting murals on scaffolding, God takes all my experiences and uses them for his good. And all of what he’s purposed has led to the writing of my first two novels, A Day to Remember and A Night to Remember. I live in amazement when I consider God’s goodness and all the opportunities, he’s given me and continues to give. I am excited to continue writing, illustrating children’s books, speaking to women about the blessings in waiting, going on mission trips, and anything else he sees fit. I have learned to trust my Father with all and live only to love and serve him.
