What this policy covers

This policy covers awsa.com, the website of the Advanced Writers and Speakers
Association (AWSA), sponsored by Right To The Heart Ministries, a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit.

What we collect

AWSA only holds what you choose to give us:

  • The contact form. Your name, email address, the topic you pick, and your message.
  • A membership application. What the application form asks for, so the board can consider it.
  • Your member profile. Whatever you enter about yourself — biography, website, location, specialties, and a photo if you add one. You write it and you control it.
  • Newsletter sign-up. Your email address, if you ask for the newsletter.
  • Award nominations. What the nomination form asks for.

How your member profile is published

The member directory is public. That is the point of it — it exists so readers,
editors, event planners and other members can find you. Only the fields in your
profile appear there; nothing else about you does.

A signed-in member can edit her own profile and no one else's. That rule is
enforced by the database itself, not only by the website, so no visitor can
change another member's page.

What we do not do

AWSA does not sell, rent or trade your information, and does not share it with
sponsors or advertisers. The directory is published for fellowship and
professional connection — it is not a mailing list for solicitation.

This site does not run advertising trackers, analytics scripts or third-party
marketing pixels of any kind. The only cookie it sets is the one that keeps you
signed in.

Payments

Membership fees and donations are handled off-site by the payment provider on
its own pages. Card numbers are never entered on awsa.com and AWSA's website
never receives them.

Changing or removing your information

Signed-in members can update their own profile at any time. For anything else —
a correction, a copy of what AWSA holds about you, or removal from the
directory or the newsletter — use the contact form and say what you
would like changed. Removing a member profile from public view does not delete
AWSA's own membership records.
