Carla Wicks – P.O.W.E.R. Certified Speaker
BIO:
Carla loves writing having completed her first novel, Summer at Eagle Crest Drive, in August 2020. She has a Devotional & Prayer Guide titled, That Still Small Whisper, which released Easter 2021. She recently completed a stage play collaboration with two Christian book authors based off their widely read 6-book series called THE POTLUCK CLUB. The stage play held its World Premiere in Hurst, Texas in the spring of 2019.
Carla resides in Ft. Worth, Texas and attends Gateway Church. She is married to Ken, and has a nineteen-year-old adopted granddaughter, Nicole. Her blended family includes six children and twelve grandchildren.
Before retirement in 2016 she worked as a registered dental hygienist for twenty-five years and as a certified dental assistant the preceding ten years. When she isn’t writing she participates in Community Theater both onstage as an actress and backstage as a stage manager. She has spent the last five years homeschooling Nicole.
Carla is a veteran of the USAF and supports veterans’ activities. She is also a Gold Star Mother losing her US Navy son in 1996. She enjoys sewing, working jigsaw puzzles and participates in races from 5K to 1/2 marathons.
