BIO:

Award winning author Linda W. Rooks believes hope can be found in unexpected places.
When she and her husband reconciled after a three-year separation, she began ministering
to others in broken marriages. As a result, two of her books, Broken Heart on Hold,
Surviving Separation, and the award winning Fighting for Your Marriage While Separated,
A Practical Guide for the Brokenhearted, bring much-needed hope and practical guidance to
readers who find themselves in the never-never land of separation. Through her online
ministry and the classes she and her husband lead in Central Florida, Linda’s
breakthrough strategies continue to help countless numbers of marriages. Because Linda
has seen God bring good out of painful times in her own life and others on so many
occasions, her weekly Heart Talk blog regularly encourages people to “find hope in
unexpected places.”
But hope isn’t only found in non-fiction titles. In her novel, Pieces of Dark, Pieces of Light,
Linda uses a captivating international suspense thriller to shine light and hope into a dark
and confusing culture. The book is a 2022 ACFW Carol Award Finalist in two categories –
Mystery/Suspense/Thriller and Debut Novel as well as a 2022 Golden Scroll Finalist in
fiction,
As a freelance writer, Linda’s writings have appeared in numerous national publications,
including Chicken Soup for the Soul, Focus on the Family, Homelife, Today’s Christian
Woman, and many more. Linda has appeared on radio and TV across the North American
continent, including Family Life Today and 100 Huntley Street, and is a Marquis Lifetime
Achievement honoree, listed in Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who in America,
and Who’s Who in the World. Her book, Fighting for Your Marriage while Separated, won
the Golden Scroll Book of the Year Award for 2019.
Linda expresses her more playful side in her children’s book, The Bunny Side of Easter.
Using bits of allegory in this winsome adventure story, Linda uses a little rabbit’s heroism
to point children to the true hero of Easter.
Linda is a member of Advanced Writers and Speakers Association (AWSA), American
Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW), Christian Authors Network (CAN), and is a founding
member of Word Weavers, the premier international Christian writers critique group.
Linda received a B.A. in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University. She and
her husband Marv live in Maitland, Florida, have two married daughters, and five
