BIO:
“Do you see me, God?” As a shy, withdrawn, introvert, It was a question I asked myself often. Through the years, that question led to writing a series of stories that became my first book, “Unseen People: Sharing Light and Life with Your Neighbors and the Nations.” My call to mission has led me around the world multiple times with my church and with my work with an anti-trafficking non-profit for women and girls.
I literally grew up in churches as a preacher’s kid in the rural South. Much of my personal faith developed from my education where my faith truly became my own. I earned a BA in Communications from Ouachita Baptist University and MA in Communications from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Through the years, I have combined my ministry and education by serving as a Missions Minister and leading mission teams and organizations in my church. Today, I teach an adult Bible study that digs deep into God’s Word. Through those studies, I understand more and more that God truly is the God who sees. I currently write a weekly Substack newsletter, A Good Word Wednesday, and have started writing my second book.
My husband, Johnny, and I live in Duncan, Oklahoma — a small town in the southwestern part of the state. I enjoy long walks, good coffee, reading and relaxing on her deck. We have two children and five grandchildren who all live nearby.
