BIO:

I’m a freelance writer, author, and speaker with a B.A. in theater. Before I began my writing and speaking career, I worked in radio for several years, both on air and behind the scenes. My clips include Prevention (coming in July 2025), Good Housekeeping, AARP, Fodor’s Travel, and AAA magazines, among other publications.

My book, Life Lessons from the National Parks: Meeting God in America’s Most Glorious Places, began as a blog. Sonfire Media published the book in 2016 for the centennial of the National Park Service. The book was endorsed by Cecil Murphey, author or co-author of over 130 books, including Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story, and 90 Minutes in Heaven with Don Piper. Life Lessons from the National Parks received a 2017 Excellence in Editing Award from the Christian Editor Connection.

The updated second edition came out in 2023 under Elk Lake Publishing, which issued its follow up, More Life Lessons from the National Parks: God’s Still Present in America’s Most Glorious Places, in 2024.

My Christian historical romance e-novella, The Christmas Child, was put out by Pelican Book Group in 2018, and included in its Sweet Romantic Fiction Editor’s Choice Christmas Collection Vol. 1 in 2023.

I served as an Artist in Residence for the Park Service, writing and presenting a one-woman show, which I took on the road for a time. I now give programs on the national parks (about 250 since 2016), on topics such as women’s history, Native American and presidential sites, and Christman and winter celebrations. I’m currently working on one for America’s upcoming 250th birthday.

God is calling me to expand my speaking to Christian groups, especially women, on a variety of subjects.
