AWSA (Advanced Writers and Speakers Association) announced the winners of the 2022 Golden Scroll Awards at the Golden Scroll Banquet, Sunday, August 14, at the Lexington Convention Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Awards were presented by Linda Evans Shepherd, founder and CEO of AWSA, with Carol Kent and Dawn Scott Damon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the 14th year that AWSA has presented the Golden Scroll Awards. The Golden Scroll Awards are open to the nearly 800 members of the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharon Tedford was named AWSA of the Year. The Jennifer Kennedy Dean Award went to Lee Ann Mancini.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eva Marie Everson was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. She is the author of over 40 books, a former nurse and a seminary graduate. When she\u2019s not writing or editing, she\u2019s running Word Weavers International, an international membership group of writers who, using the art of critique, become iron sharpening iron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\u2019s one of the original members and a founding board member of AWSA and the director of the Florida Christian Writers Conference. She speaks at writers conferences across America and to women’s groups as well as to congregations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\u2019s written some amazing books, including The Third Path\u2014Intimacy with God on the Path of Questioning<\/em>, her latest novel, Five Brides<\/em>, her new children\u2019s book, My God is Bigger Than That<\/em> (with Michelle Medlock Adams) and The Potluck Club series<\/em> (with Linda Evans Shepherd).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Golden Scrolls Book of the Year was awarded to Julie Coleman for \u201cOn Purpose: Understanding God\u2019s Freedom for Women through Scripture\u201d (Kregel).<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Children\u2019s Fiction Book of the Year was awarded to Tricia Goyer and Amy Parker, illustrated by Monica De Rivas for \u201cThe Grumbles\u201d (Running Press Kids).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second place for Children\u2019s Fiction Book of the Year went to Michelle Medlock Adams, illustrated by Ana Sebasti\u00e1n, for \u201cDachshund through the Snow\u201d (End Game Press). Third place went to Jeanne Dennis, illustrated by Jeannie St. John Taylor, for \u201cMatt\u2019s Compusonic\u201d (Elk Lake).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Christian Education Book of the Year was awarded to Karen Whiting for \u201c52 Weekly Devotions for Family Prayer\u201d (RoseKidz).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bible Study Book of the Year was awarded to Karen Whiting for \u201cGrowing a Mother\u2019s Heart Bible Study\u201d (AMG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second place for Bible Study Book of the Year went to Shadia Hrichi for \u201cTamar: Rediscovering the God Who Redeems Me\u201d (Leafwood). Third place went to Andy Lee for \u201cRadiant Influence: How an Ordinary Girl Changed the World\u201d (CrossRiver Media).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Memoir of the Year was awarded to Sandra Flack for \u201cOrphans No More\u201d (Brookstone Publishing).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second place for Memoir of the Year went to Kris Rystrom Emmert with Julie Voudrie for \u201cProviding Promise: A Navy Widow\u2019s Journey to Hope\u201d (Carpenter and Son). The Inspirational Gift Book of the Year was awarded to Kathy Howard for \u201cHeirloom: Living and Leaving a Legacy of Faith\u201d (Tyndale).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second place for Devotional Book of the Year Danita Jenae for \u201cWhen Mountains Crumble: Rebuilding Your Life after Losing Someone You Love\u201d (Moody). Third place went to Ava Pennington for \u201cReflections on the Name of God\u201d (Revell).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mystery\/Suspense Novel of the Year was awarded to Kimberley Woodhouse for \u201cBridge of God\u201d (Barbour).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second place for the Mystery\/Suspense Novel of the Year went to Lynette Eason for \u201cPeril on the Ranch\u201d (Love Inspired Suspense). Third place went to Lisa Betz for \u201cFountains and Secrets\u201d (Redemption Press).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second place for Contemporary Novel of the Year went to Cynthia Ruchti for \u201cFacing the Dawn\u201d (Revell). Third place went to Christina Suzann Nelson \u201cShaped by the Waves\u201d (Bethany House).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Historical Novel of the Year was awarded to Tricia Goyer for \u201cThe Elder Sister\u201d (Guideposts).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second place for Historical Novel of the Year went to Jocelyn Green for \u201cDrawn by the Current\u201d (Bethany House). Third place went to Cynthia L. Simmons for \u201cReflecting Gold\u201d (Elk Lake).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Romance Novel of the Year was awarded to Lane Jordan for \u201cEvangeline\u201d (Elk Lake).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Novella of the Year was awarded to T. E. Bradford for \u201cAwakened\u201d (Elk Lake).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Arise Daily Writer of the Year was awarded to A. C. Williams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feature Article of the Year went to Christine Trimpe for her article \u201cProt\u00e9g\u00e9 to Published Author.\u201d The EPA Higher Goals Award went to Mabel Ninan for her article \u201cLockdown Lessons: How the Pandemic Reshaped My Understanding of the Church.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A parody, written by Martha Bolton, was performed by Sharon Tedford. Eva Marie Everson<\/a> delivered the keynote address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
