Exchanging hurt for hope is Dr. Sheryl Giesbrecht\u2019s focus\u2014a message she shares with audiences as a radio personality, author, and speaker. A dynamic teacher and motivating leader, Giesbrecht has endured many changes and challenges. She has overcome addictions, cancer and even widowhood, \u00a0moving her to a deep faith, trust, and dependence on God.<\/div>\n

She served as Focus on the Family\u2019s columnist for Pastor\u2019s Wives for four years. Hundreds of her columns, magazine and devotional articles have appeared in\u00a0Focus on The Family Magazine<\/em>,\u00a0Just Between Us<\/em>,\u00a0Discipleship Journal<\/em>,\u00a0CCM<\/em>,\u00a0Walk Thru the Bible\u2019s \u2013 InDeed<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Tapestry<\/em>\u00a0publications. She is a blogger\u00a0for Lead Like Jesus,<\/em>Biblegateway<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Crosswalk<\/em>. She is the author of three books, including the life changing\u00a0Get Back Up: Trusting God When Life Knocks You Down\u00a0<\/em>(Wheatmark 2013) and the delightful\u00a0Experiencing God Through His Names<\/em>\u00a0(Bold Vision 2016). She has a heart for missions and is avid about reaching the lost and the poor and needy, locally through the Rescue Mission and worldwide,\u00a0personally involved with equipping hundreds and facilitating the training of thousands of leaders internationally. It is a ministry in which she worked alongside her late husband, Paul.<\/div>\n

The joys of Giesbrecht\u2019s life are her two children and their spouses, memories of the time spent with her beloved late husband, and the new beginning she shares with her marriage to Dr. Jim Turner. In addition to running in the foothills near her new home, Sheryl loves spending time with her husband Jim and their blended family of two cats and four dogs. She also enjoys baking chocolate chip cookies and pumpkin bread for their thirteen grandchildren. Sheryl holds a bachelor of arts from Biola University, a master\u2019s in ministry, and a doctorate of theology.<\/div>\n
