She also holds a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University. Laurel has provided psychotherapy services to hundreds in need, and is now an Associate Professor at Liberty University.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Laurel speaks and writes on the\u00a0<\/span>intersection of faith, culture, and emotional well-being<span style=\"color: #000000;\">, including women\u2019s issues; relationships, mental illness and the church; topics related to the military\/veteran population; stress and trauma; and issues related to adoption and infertility. She has been featured on many local, national, and international podcasts and radio programs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Laurel has been published professionally and in the well-known Extraordinary Women, P31 Woman, and Lifeway\u2019s Journey Magazines. In addition to her own blog\u00a0she has written for Patheos, the American Association of Christian Counselors, The Ethics and Religious Liberties Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, To Save a Life, For Every Mom, and many others.<\/p>\n<p>Laurel\u2019s first \u00a0book \u201cReclaiming Sanity: Hope and Healing for Trauma, Stress, and Overwhelming Life Events\u201d was released by David C. Cook on June 1st, 2017, and her second book \u201cRelational Reset: Unlearning the Habits that Hold You Back\u201d was released by Moody Publishers on Feb 5, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Laurel, her beloved sailor husband Nick, and their sweet children live in the deep south.\u00a0 Laurel enjoys spending time with family and friends, being involved in church activities &amp; ministries, keeping up with political &amp; world news, and volunteering with local organizations.
