She is the author of over eighty books of humor and inspiration. Her newest,\u00a0Dear Bob\u2026\u00a0 Bob Hope\u2019s Wartime Correspondence with the GIs of WW2\u00a0(University Press of Mississippi, 2021),\u00a0has been featured on\u00a0CBS Sunday Morning with Jane Pauley, ABC News, NPR, Fox News, TalkRadio Europe, Closer Weekly magazine, and other media outlets.\u00a0Martha has received nominations for an Emmy,\u00a0a\u00a0Dove Award, and a WGA Award, and is a prolific playwright with ten musicals\u00a0playing in five states. Two of the musicals are based on her novels,\u00a0<i>Josiah for President<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0<i>The Home Game<\/i>.\u00a0<i>The Home Game<\/i>\u00a0also\u00a0received a 2017\u00a0Golden Scrolls\u00a0Merit Award. Martha and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2020 with\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">a\u00a0pandemic-inspired\u00a0drive<wbr \/>-by car parade of family and friends.
