Bio: <\/b>Whether speaking across the nation or communicating through her books and the written word, Shelly Beach is driven by one desire\u2014to communicate truth through the power of story.<\/span><\/p>\n


\nShelly Beach holds a B.A. from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and an M.R.E. from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. She is a freelance writer, public speaker, and college writing instructor. Shelly\u2019s devotionals, poetry, feature articles, and fiction have been published in a wide variety of both secular and religious markets. Her devotional for caregivers, Precious Lord, Take My Hand (Discovery House) was nominated for an Evangelical Christian Press Association Award in the Gift and Inspirational category for 2008. Her first contemporary novel in the Stewartville series, Hallie\u2019s Heart (Kregel Publishers) was nominated for a Christy Award in 2008 as well. Her second caregiving title, Ambushed by Grace (Discovery House) is releasing in the fall of 2008. The second novel in her Stewartville series, Gifts from Morningsong, (Kregel Publishers), is releasing in February of 2009. In 2009, Eden\u2019s Legacy: Inner Voices that Shape the Truth We Believe will release with Moody Publishers. She has also worked with Crossway on several Bibles, including the Stewardship Resource Bible, The Pastors\u2019 Resource Bible, as well as contributing to Tyndale House Publisher\u2019s Meditations: Via Christus project, to be released in 2009.<\/span><\/p>\n


\nShelly is the founder of the Cedar Falls Christian Writers\u2019 Workshop in Cedar Falls, Iowa, as well as a co-founder of the Breathe Christian Writer\u2019s Workshop in Grand Haven, Michigan. She speaks at writers\u2019 conferences, as well as women\u2019s conferences, retreats, caregivers\u2019 seminars, and educational venues throughout the country. She is a members of the Christian Authors\u2019 Network and the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association.<\/span><\/p>\n


\nShelly and her husband Dan provided care in their home for eight years for Dan\u2019s father, who suffered from Parkinson\u2019s Disease, and Shelly\u2019s mother and father, who were ill with Alzheimer\u2019s and numerous additional diagnoses.
