I\u2019m a freelance writer, author, and speaker with a B.A. in theater. Before I began my writing and speaking career, I worked in radio for several years, both on air and behind the scenes. My clips include Prevention (coming in July 2025), Good Housekeeping, AARP, Fodor\u2019s Travel, and AAA magazines, among other publications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My book, Life Lessons from the National Parks: Meeting God in America\u2019s Most Glorious Places<\/em><\/strong>,<\/strong> began as a blog. Sonfire Media published the book in 2016 for the centennial of the National Park Service. The book was endorsed by Cecil Murphey, author or co-author of over 130 books, including Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story<\/em>, and 90 Minutes in Heaven<\/em> with Don Piper. Life Lessons from the National Parks <\/em>received a 2017 Excellence in Editing Award from the Christian Editor Connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The updated second edition came out in 2023 under Elk Lake Publishing, which issued its follow up, More Life Lessons from the National Parks: God\u2019s Still Present in America\u2019s Most Glorious Place<\/em><\/strong>s<\/em>, in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My Christian historical romance e-novella, The Christmas Child<\/em><\/strong>, was put out by Pelican Book Group in 2018, and included in its Sweet Romantic Fiction Editor\u2019s Choice Christmas Collection Vol. 1 in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I served as an Artist in Residence for the Park Service, writing and presenting a one-woman show, which I took on the road for a time. I now give programs on the national parks (about 250 since 2016), on topics such as women\u2019s history, Native American and presidential sites, and Christman and winter celebrations. I\u2019m currently working on one for America\u2019s upcoming 250th<\/sup> birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
