BIO:
Exchanging hurt for hope is Dr. Sheryl Giesbrecht’s focus—a message she shares with audiences as a radio personality, author, and speaker. A dynamic teacher and motivating leader, Giesbrecht has endured many changes and challenges. She has overcome addictions, cancer and even widowhood,  moving her to a deep faith, trust, and dependence on God.
She served as Focus on the Family’s columnist for Pastor’s Wives for four years. Hundreds of her columns, magazine and devotional articles have appeared in Focus on The Family MagazineJust Between Us, Discipleship JournalCCMWalk Thru the Bible’s – InDeed and Tapestry publications. She is a blogger for Lead Like Jesus,Biblegateway and Crosswalk. She is the author of three books, including the life changing Get Back Up: Trusting God When Life Knocks You Down (Wheatmark 2013) and the delightful Experiencing God Through His Names (Bold Vision 2016). Here newest book “It’ll Be Okay: Finding God When Doubt Hides the Truth” is featured through Redemption Press (www.redemption-press.com) on the Women of Joy: Rescued Tour.
Giesbrecht’s nationally syndicated radio show, “Transformed Through Truth,” is internationally syndicated and heard daily by over 15 million listeners around the world on The Holy Spirit Broadcasting Network (www.HSBN.tv). Sheryl is a Credentialed Facilitator for Lead Like Jesus, working with business executives and church leaders to guide as they learn how to sharpen their management skills.(www.leadlikejesus.com) Sheryl is a Certified Ministry Associate and missionarry for Freedom in Christ Ministries with Dr. Neil Anderson, encouraging business and church leaders to walk in victory as they understand their identity in Christ.(www.ficm.org)
She has a heart for missions and is avid about reaching the lost and the poor and needy, locally through the Rescue Mission and worldwide, personally involved with equipping hundreds and facilitating the training of thousands of leaders internationally. It is a ministry in which she worked alongside her late husband, Paul.
The joys of Giesbrecht’s life are her two children and their spouses, memories of the time spent with her beloved late husband, and the new beginning she shares with her marriage to Dr. Jim Turner. In addition to running in the foothills near her new home, Sheryl loves spending time with her husband Jim and their blended family of two cats and four dogs. She also enjoys baking chocolate chip cookies and pumpkin bread for their thirteen grandchildren. Sheryl holds a bachelor of arts from Biola University, a master’s in ministry, and a doctorate of theology.
