Bio:

Sue Detweiler is a faith influencer, biblical leadership expert, and podcast host of Healing Rain with more than twenty-five years of experience in marriage, ministry, and education. She is also a popular speaker who shares her heart and wisdom internationally on issues related to healing, prayer, and women in leadership.

Sue is an author presently writing her fourth book. Women Who Move Mountains: Praying with Confidence, Boldness, and Grace has inspired women’s groups internationally to grow in their relationship with Jesus through prayer.

Sue’s first book, 9 Traits of a Life-Giving Mom, hit No. 1 on Amazon’s hot new releases for Christian women’s issues. As the mom of 6, and mimi of 6, Sue brings a vulnerable perspective on how wonderful and difficult it is to be a mom.

Her second book, 9 Traits of a Life-Giving Marriage, grew out of her and her husband’s heart to help couples grow closer to God and to each other. In their pastoral ministry, they have seen how sharing their own struggles has helped to create a safe context for individuals and couples to be transparent and honest with their issues. Wayne and Sue have also seen God’s transformative power heal and restore lives through the conferences and workshops they have led.

Background

Sue responded to God’s call on her life out of heartfelt obedience to what the Bible commands. Sue and her husband, Wayne, began in ministry as youth pastors. They moved to Nashville in 1986 and planted and pastored Harmony Christian Fellowship for nine years. During this time, Sue received her Master of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt University. Sue and Wayne became a part of The Foursquare Church through their roles as associate pastors at New Song Christian Fellowship.  Sue had the privilege of overseeing Life School of Ministry, a Bible training program, which helps students develop their ministry gifts. She was also the principal at New Song Christian Academy, a homeschool program for kindergarten through eighth grade. Sue partnered with her husband, Wayne, in marriage ministry and led prayer locally and citywide.

Sue and Wayne moved to Dallas, Texas, to plant and pastor Life Bridge Church. Sue preached regularly in both their English and Spanish service (with an interpreter). Sue led regular outreach to the poor building a safe place for those being freed from addiction. Recently Sue and Wayne transitioned to be a part of the Upperroom in Dallas Texas.
